How did play shape you? – Celebrating World Children’s Day

This week we have been celebrating World Children’s Day and the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. We wanted to show the many ways in which play shapes children into the adults they become by asking EU stakeholders the question: How did play shape you? The variety of responses we received can be seen in the gallery below.

A child’s right to play, which is enshrined in Article 31 of the UN Convention on Children’s rights, is vital for them to develop the skills needed to navigate the adult world. We hope this campaign can remind people just how important it is to make sure that children have the time, space and permission to play.
